A course we wished existed.
In 2016, Chris was a Lead BA at a London insurance firm. Every six months a fresh graduate would land on his team — bright, capable, and astonishingly under-prepared for the actual work.
The courses on offer were either too academic to be useful (300-page PDFs about IIBA frameworks) or too shallow to be trusted (six-hour YouTube playlists with no quiz, no casework, no defensible methodology). Chris kept writing onboarding documents instead. Eventually he had enough of them to teach a course.
The first cohort was eight people, run from a co-working space in Cambridge in 2017. The second was thirty. Today CGXperts has trained over 2,000 working professionals across the UK — and we’ve never once paid for a YouTube ad or run a discount sale outside of our standard launch window.
We’re still independent, still bootstrapped, still small. Every course we publish is taught by someone who could walk back into a Lead BA role tomorrow. We think that’s the only honest way to do this.
